Frequently Asked Questions
Can we write our own vows?
Yes! I would love for you to write your own vows, we can discuss this and I can also advise you on how to include the required legal wording at the beginning.
How much do you charge?
As noted on the services page, my base prices are outlined there. Fees may vary based on the type of service, the length of the ceremony, and any specific traditions you wish to include. I encourage you to reach out so we can discuss the details of your special day, including all inclusions and pricing.
What documents do I need to show you before getting married?
There are a few documents I would require from both parties.
1. Passport (if you have one)
2. Your birth certificate and photo ID such as a drivers license (if you don’t have a passport)
3. If you have been married before, you will need to provide me with a Divorce or Death Certificate.
4. All documents need to be in English
How many witnesses do we need?
Two, who are over the age of 18 and speak / understand English.
How long does a general ceremony go for?
Everyone’s stories are different, however all my ceremonies will be between 20 - 30 minutes unless there are guests who would like to share readings or special traditions that need to be incorporated. Please speak with me further if that is the case, as if the ceremony will go over the 30 minute duration then an extra fee may apply.
Do you provide a PA system?
Yes! I will provide a PA system and x2 microphones at all of my ceremonies (always best to have a backup mic just in case something happened to the main). There will also be an input for music and a line out for your videographer’s to use. I will also allow your videographer’s to tape a small recorder to the microphone for back up + allow them to put a lapel on me if required.
When do we meet to plan our ceremony?
Immediately! We will start first with our initial call to get a feel for one another. From there you will secure me for your ceremony, sign your contract + pay your deposit. After that we will catch up anywhere within 5 months before your ceremony date to run through how you would like to ceremony to flow, give you the opportunity for me to witness your ID documents and sign all legal documents ready for our big day.
Do we need a rehearsal?
That decision is entirely yours. If you feel more comfortable having a rehearsal, we can certainly arrange one at any time within two weeks of your ceremony date. Please note, there will be an additional cost for this service.
There are still questions I need to ask?
No worries :) Just send through an enquiry using the contact form on the site and I would be more than happy to discuss this further with you via email or phone.
